John's primary guitar is a custom built Alan Arnold Pegasus model. This guitar was built for John by Alan Arnold. The guitar is built to John's specification. It has an inbuilt Headway piezo pickup and a Mini-flex 2 Mic system to provide a very natural amplified sound.
John's secondary guitar is a Maton EBG808 Artist model with a Maton APMic pickup.
On stage John uses a Phil Jones AAD Cub 100 amplifier. This amplifier is very small (only 11kgs) but packs a powerful 100W punch. In the past John has used just this tiny amplifier to play to crowds of 200+ and the sound was fanatastic.
John's rig is powered by George L's cables. These cables provide a fantastic clear signal with minimal loss. More information can be found at www.georgels.co.uk and www.moonphase.co.uk
John also uses a headway EDB 1 preamp to blend the signal from the Headway piezo pickup and the Mini-flex Mic system. For reverb he uses an Alesis Midiverb II.
John uses light gauge (12-53) strings.
